# BlocosIA Studio

> Free Scratch-style block coding platform to teach programming and Artificial Intelligence in schools. Available in English, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish. It runs in the browser with nothing to install, and without signing in all processing happens on the user's own computer.

Author: Prof. Iago Lira (independent project, not affiliated with Scratch/MIT)
Audience: primary and secondary school students, computing, robotics and technology teachers
Price: free. Optional Pro plan (R$ 19.90/month, paid through Stripe) for unlimited cloud projects and standalone HTML export.

## What you can do

- Code with Scratch-style blocks: motion, looks, sound, events, control, sensing, operators, variables, clones and "My Blocks".
- Create sprites and backdrops from a large library (animated characters, objects, letters, numbers, icons and backdrops), upload or drag images and edit them in the paint editor (brush, shapes, fill, text, selection).
- Use sounds from a library of 70+ effects and music loops, record with the microphone, upload audio from the computer or a URL and apply effects (echo, robot, faster, reverse, etc.).
- Stage formats 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 (also in the exported HTML).
- Multiple stages (scenes), touch-screen events for phones and tablets, advanced loops (count from/to/step with a stop condition, while) and clones at any position.
- Interactive tutorials for kids that check each step automatically.
- Paint editor with copy/paste, resize, center of mass, non-destructive masks and an editable collision area (box, circle or polygon).
- Light mode for slow computers and Raspberry Pi.
- Game World extension: tilemap editor with built-in or custom tilesets, parallax backgrounds, a scrolling camera, solid barriers, side-collision sensors and platform physics (gravity and jumping).
- Robot and sensors extension: differential-drive motors, color/light sensors, ultrasonic distance, temperature and mass/weight on any sprite (RoboCup-style line following).
- Robot editor: build a top-down robot from shapes, wheels and tracks, add any number of named sensors (color, ultrasonic, temperature, touch), align parts with black alignment dots and use the sensors by name in blocks.
- Robot track tileset in the map editor: 86 RoboCup Junior Rescue Line tiles (curves, crossings, green markers, gaps, turnarounds, obstacle, silver and red strips) with a rotate tool.
- Alignment tools in the paint editor: select several pieces and click black dots to align corners, edges or centers, or distribute them.
- Export to a .zip package for game platforms (itch.io, Game Jolt, Newgrounds) with icons, cover, manifest and touch controls.
- Animated costume library: explosions, particles, fire, confetti and running, flying and jumping characters.
- Community library of shared projects on the home page.
- Save to the cloud with Google sign-in and share: shared projects are public in the Explore gallery, others can test and copy them but never edit the original.
- Free plan: 1 cloud project (save, copy or publish) plus unlimited projects in the browser or as .blocosia files.
- Pro plan: unlimited cloud projects, copies and publishing, and export of a single standalone HTML file for WebView (Android/iOS apps) and browsers, optionally with the AI models embedded so it works offline.

## Artificial Intelligence extensions

- Video Sensing: motion and direction from the camera.
- Hands: 21 points per hand, gestures and raised fingers (MediaPipe, runs in the browser).
- Face: face points, smile, open mouth, blinks and head tilt.
- Train AI (images): students create classes, record examples with the camera and use the model (k-nearest neighbors).
- Train Sounds and Voice: the same with the microphone (spectrograms).
- Voice: text-to-speech and spoken command recognition.
- Smart Sprites: speed, position prediction, follow and flee.
- Face and Iris recognition and speaker verification (educational biometrics for digital-security lessons).
- Text AI: chat with an AI; without signing in it runs in the browser (Chrome built-in AI or a small model with Transformers.js in a Web Worker).
- Image AI and Voice AI: cloud generation through Pollinations.ai, only for signed-in users who connect their own account.

## Robotics

- Raspberry Pi (GPIO, PWM, servos and OpenCV computer vision through a small Python WebSocket bridge), Makey Makey and Bluetooth BLE (Nordic UART / HM-10).
- Arduino (StandardFirmata over Web Serial), micro:bit (MicroPython over USB), LEGO SPIKE Prime (MicroPython over USB) and LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 (direct commands over Bluetooth, experimental). Requires Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer.

## Privacy

- Camera and microphone are processed on the device; nothing is sent.
- Without signing in, projects stay only in the browser.
- Anti-bot protection with Cloudflare Turnstile when saving to the cloud.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; card data never reaches BlocosIA Studio.
